Holiday - SOLD
2001 Palomino Gelding
Grade Quarter Horse
(16h, 1250 lbs)

Holiday has been used as a pickup horse at all levels of rodeo competition, and used in all three rough stock events. We’ve roped horses, cattle and bulls both in the arena and in the pasture with him, and he’s been used to gather and sort cattle and horses from the pasture.

We’ve ridden Holiday in some tough Colorado terrain, through water, bogs, over logs, rocks, and up and down steep grades and he is always sure footed. He will ride alone or in a group fine, and will ride in the front or back with no problems. He has been used to pony horses, open/close gates, clips, bathes, blankets, stands tied all day long, perfect for the farrier, will load and unload himself and trailers like a dream. He has been hauled long hours, seen many miles on the trail and in the pasture, and has been ridden in some of the loudest arenas you can find.

This gelding has absolutely no buck, bite, kick or runaway to him - it’s just not in his DNA. He is quiet, and prefers to go about his business in a laid back manner unless otherwise asked. He is not generally spooky, but can be a little high-headed and watchy if he's had a lot of time off. He's just one of those that has to approach and check out new objects before he gives his stamp of approval and does best with a confident rider that will not make him second guess himself in those types of situations.

Oh, and did I mention that he was easy on the eyes? 16 hands, 1250 lbs, dappled palomino…everywhere we have ever taken this horse I have gotten comments on him. He is about as balanced as they come – deep hipped, all the muscle, bone and hoof you could ask for, lots of size and substance but not bulky, and just a really handsome horse.

At 10 years old this gelding is really in his prime! This guy has done a lot for us, and we will make sure that he goes to the right home. THIS HORSE IS SOLD
