2004 Bay Roan Gelding
Quarter Horse (16 hands, 1250 lbs)

Rebel Roan Hancock, or "JC", has been with us for nearly two years. In that time we have used him primarily to rope bulls at rodeos, but he has also picked-up saddle broncs as needed. He has carried flags during grand entries, sorted cattle and horses, roped cattle outside, and rides well out on the trail. He is also the go-to horse for working young colts, and stays calm and collected no matter what is happening. JC is a big, strong eye-catching gelding, with a ton of mane and tail that really makes him stand out. He hauls quietly, is good with his feet, and is just easy to have around.

We really, really like this gelding and he has always done everything we have ever asked of him, but due to a stretched sacro-sciatic ligment in his left hip, he is just not going to be able to stand up to the rigors of what we need. He is perfectly sound for trails and arena riding, but is not going to hold up over time to any roping or pulling. This gentle giant is in the prime of his life and is certainly not ready to retire, but does need to find a great home that is more suited to his abilities. He does not take any special care, but does benefit from occational massage and/or chiropractic/accupuncture treatments. We are looking to place him in a home that understands his minor limitations but also recognizes and appreciates all of the great things he can still do. This horse has sold.
